Which address (IP or MAC) should I use in order to identify a station that I'd like to monitor?
If you have DHCP enabled in your network, each computer with a unique MAC address is assigned a different IP address for every session. For this case, you should identify your stations by MAC addresses. This will make the program assign all network events where the specified MAC address is present to the particular station and prevent the list of stations from being overpopulated. In some cases, you may encounter different MAC address for each host. If you have a static IP address assigned to your network adapter and other stations on your LAN, you should use IP addresses to identify stations.
